Early work from Dig The Pixels, my design studio in the Dimension 7 collective, where I was founder and lead designer from 2006 to 2010. Drupal sites I built and themed.
Dig The Pixels was my design studio from 2006 to 2010, part of the Dimension 7 collective. Everything here was built on Drupal, the open-source content management system, in the years before hosted site builders existed — which meant every layout, theme, and template was hand-built rather than picked from a catalog. We Love Beauty was a beauty-products blog; d7tv was an online-video venture of our own.
01 · We Love Beauty, a Drupal Build
We Love Beauty ran on Drupal, with a theme I built.
I built it in blocks and regions. The theme defined the regions — header, sidebars, content, footer — and each part of the page was a block I designed as its own component and assigned to a region. Because the layout was assembled from interchangeable parts, a page could be recomposed without reworking the template underneath.

03 · d7tv, the Video Venture
d7tv.com was an online-video venture under Dimension 7. I built and ran the site: a Drupal build hosting eight channels. I also worked on video production and compression.
The site is still up, though the Flash video no longer plays.
The blocks-and-regions habit didn't go away. The token pipelines and the systems I build now across web, mobile and CAD are the same instinct — standard parts, recombined per context — with better tools.
